White House Hotel, nestled amid Ge Le Mountain in Chongqing‘s Shapingba District, was originally a villa owned by warlord Bai Ju, and now it is a momument of revolution where one reminisce and lament the revolutory martyrs. After the SIno-Japanese War, the place served as a place of captivity where famous patriots and communist party members were imprisoned, including Sister Jiang and “Xiao Luobotou” (Little Radish Head); this is also the original setting of the novel Red Crag.

Chongqing Zoo
Chongqing Zoo is situated in Yangjiaping in the city’s Jiulongpo District. The zoo is home to one of China’s national treasures, the panda, of which there are more than in the average zoo. The National Huanan Tiger Breeding Center is also based at the zoo. There is nothing better than visiting the zoo at the weekend with kids to look at the variety of animals. Chongqing Zoo is home to quite a complete range of animals, including giant pandas, giraffes, lions, zebra, elephants, tigers, crocodiles, and apes. Jiefangbei pedestrian street is a bustling commercial street in downtown Chongqing. It’s one of Chongqing’s fashion landmarks and is a great place for shopping and good food. The street is located in Yuzhong District, with the People’s Liberation Monument at its center; Jiefangbei Pedestrian Street encompasses the surrounding Minquan Road, Zourong Road, Bayi Road and Wuyi Road. There is a large number of departmental stores, hotels, and restaurants there. It is said that local beauties often come to this place, and the beauty of women from Chongqing is well known throughout the country.

Ciqikou
Ciqikou Ancient Town is located beside Chongqing city. It used to serve as a goods unloading dock. The town has more than a dozen streets and it is filled with ancient Ming Dynasty architectures. The Dazu Rock Carvings in the Dazu District of Chongqing City is a world cultural heritage site. The Dazu Rock Carvings include Baoding Mountain, Beishan Mountain, Nanshan Mountain and others. Here, you can enjoy seeing the well-preserved stone carving art from the Tang and Song Dynasties. Huguang Huiguan Guild Complex
The Huguang Guild Hall, also known as the Temple of the King, is the collective name of a group of ancient buildings that includes the Guangdong Office, the Qi’an Office, and the Palace of the King. It was the gathering place of Hubei and Hunan businessmen in Chongqing. The theater stage within the guild hall contains exquisite wood ring carvings. The carvings mainly contain images from the famous stories, “Journey to the West,” “Investiture of the Gods,” “the Twenty-Four Filial Exemplars,” etc. It’s definitely worth a look.

The Lesser Three Gorges of Wushan
The Lesser Three Gorges of Wushan refers to the collective name of Longmen Gorge, Bawu Gorge, and Dicui Gorge along the lower reaches of the Daning River in Wushan County, spanning 45 kilometers.
